Jinkies! Zoinks!

Well, I have less than one month left here in the motherland. On August 27-28 I will have the pleasure of meeting my fellow training class volunteers, and on August 29, I will be winging my way down to Nicaragua, which Google Earth tells me is basically due south of Montgomery, Alabama. I'm hoping that's where the similarities end. If you're curious about what my future life might be like, check out some of the blogs I added to the sidebar. I've been reading them, and I'm not sure if it's making me more or less nervous. It has soothed my concerns about shoes somewhat, and anyone who knows me knows that shoes are still the most challenging part of getting dressed in the morning. I have also been looking up people from high school; you know, the Google/Facebook/myspace crawl through the interweb,

Time Flies When You're Frantic

Wow. I am in my apartment, surrounded by massive quantities of my no-longer wanted stuff. Well, it's not so much that I don't want it, it's that keeping it would be outrageously impractical. I have the following loot, should anyone want any... Games (Scrabble, Chess, Apples to Apples, Cranium Turbo Edition (never played)) Books - lots of them, many topics school supplies and stationary bathroom scale tarot cards magazine rack clothes shoes vases small aquarium bed (may be claimed, not sure) couch (may be claimed, not sure) printer lamps (1 table, 1 standing) a cat etc. I have also just received the bill for my last medical expense, and it's a whopper. Volunteering can be quite expensive. I'm still working diligently at multiple different jobs to try and save up, but as with most everything, progress is slow.
